Does this product use AI art?  Some illustrations look a little AI-ish, like on P. 210 (character on the left has three legs but only two feet...) and P. 215 (character on the right seemingly has two legs that fuse into one?).

Yep. There used to be more messages on here about the art and text being ai, but they were removed looks like.

Text too?  Hmm.

Dear gatesphere,

I understand there may be some concerns regarding the use of AI-assisted art in our recent product. Our designers have their own individual creative process, and we aim to encourage them in any way possible.

Regarding the specific images highlighted, I have followed up with the artists involved. They explained that they used AI as an assistive tool during the design process, not to fully generate or replace their work. There were some oversights in reviewing the final pieces, which they sincerely apologize for and we will address in the next revision of Solitaria as soon as possible.

For the text, I can confirm we did not utilize any AI. As our team is based in Japan and mostly southeast asia, translating concepts across languages can introduce inconsistencies, which we will continue working diligently to smooth out. As a non-native English company, we put care into translations and adaptations, though phrasing may occasionally seem unnatural. If any AI-generated elements caused disappointment, please accept our sincere apology.

We value feedback from this community. However, some prior discussions around this issue infringed on our guidelines, necessitating removal.

If the presence of AI-assisted art remains a substantial concern, please let us know and we will look into alternative options or refunds. Our goal is to find solutions that make our products enjoyable for all. Thank you for understanding - I appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

And from our team, we want to wish you a Happy Chinese New Year.

You can contact us through sparuh.com@gmail.com.

Thank you for the response.

I am not disappointed that the product has some AI to it, I just personally wish that AI use was more widely disclosed in the industry as a whole.  Empowering consumer choice with clear labels is a net benefit for both customers and businesses.

All the art is AI, yes. It should be stated very clearly so buyers are aware of what they're purchasing. All the previous conversations about their use of AI were deleted, by the looks of it... No idea what 'guidelines' were infringed on to warrant that.

Thanks for pointing this out. Yes, the art and graphics seemed very "uncanny valley"-ish to me but I could not put my finger on it.

I also found this (possibly fake?) user who doesn't seem to play any games except by this developer - https://itch.io/profile/promptinary Maybe their username is a pun on AI prompt engineering? Who knows.

All of this left a bad taste in my mouth :(
