Is there a huge minus to also opening up a SubscribeStar page?

No minus at all - I've had my Subscribestar page open for almost as long as my Patreon page, and Subscribestar is better in every conceivable way than Patreon. They take less of a cut, allow way more creative freedom, and have almost no demands of creators.
If I can get enough people to migrate over then I won't have to do the Steam switchover :)
