I think this is great, for your first time in a new engine! I especially liked the changing colors effects you did on the flashlight as the battery drains. That was a nice detail.

I hope you keep experimenting with Godot - I've been using it since 2022 and I like it much more than Unity 🙂

Thank you! Me too I wish I had more time to play around with the effects etc. I will definitely continue to use Godot in the future :)

Neat concept, though right now, the main interaction mainly felt like a chore and not like it added to the gameplay. I guess if there were enemies or some other danger if you stayed in the same spot for too long, this would drastically change how it feels, and I appreciate that three hours are a very short time, especially if you’re working with a new engine for the first time. I think the idea does have potential, nicely done.

(also props to you for jumping off the Unity ship ;))

Originally i wanted to have the player be hurt by the dark and needing to find batteries alongside the notes. But I quickly realized I just had to focus on one and one mechanic. But thank you, its motivating hearing this when trying something new!

I like the concept :) It would be even better if the flashlight was a consumable (doesn't replenish). It would feels a bit more rewarding and die and retry.

Thank you for the input! I can see your point, and I'm gonna be thinking more about gameplay replayability for the next one :)
