I enjoy the sprites, and have spent about 20ish minutes messing with this.

The concept is there, but the lack of DEF or ATK stat visible is confusing. There is no weapons or armour to spend gold on and levelling up does not seem to increase either of those, only HP.

At level 8, by room 5 of the dungeon if I do not pick up a attack buff item I only do 1 damage to enemies. The rest of the dungeon is spent just rapidly pressing the direction button to do 1 damage as fast as possible.

I can see the appeal of carrying over levels but losing resources when dying, but when levelling only increases my hp it all feels hopeless. Like I should just walk through rooms and not even bother with combat as there's no reward, and there's no point of gold if I'm not bothering to get hit. The core loop is broken.


Spelling correction: ressources is spelt resources

All in all, a cute game but in need of fixing the damage calculation to reflect you're getting stronger. Being able to spend gold on things that aren't healing would also be appreciated.

As I mention in the description and you right the statistic calculator is doing messy thing I did not had time to look deeper before Mini Jam end.

My other goal where also this:
- Spend stat point on what you want on level up.
- One other NPC to spend gold on other thing that healing
