Thank you for the feedback. I thought the large number of grass blades affected performance when I added them; I'll probably end up compromising on the grass blades to hopefully improve performance. As far as controls go, I find it best to just use the W key for forward movement and steer with the mouse/camera only - I learned this when I first tried the GDQuest third-person controller demo, which this project uses. The jumps are intentionally difficult for the first level to make the demo interesting, but I can probably tone it down a bit and add a visual cue to help the player understand how the jump pad actually works. The spring-loaded jump pad might not be an accurate depiction.
