what skills do i need to beat the fairies, and how can i get those skills?
Invisibility is a good choice. You should have it by now for free.
Besides that, mana shield (purchasable from Sofia), summons (rat talismans or undead skeletons from Willow), drain mana (Magda). These are only a few examples. Other stuff works too.
