EDIT: While I support the archival efforts of game enthusiasts, I do not support pirating. If you own a game, feel free to create a back up for personal use. But obtaining a game from the developer and then redistributing the game on your own platform is not okay (abandonware is technically counted as piracy, but it's kinda in a grey area).

Are you familiar with the term "abondonware"? If a game or software is no longer being distributed or supported by whoever owns it, it becomes abandonware. There are many websites that archive specifically games that have been "abandoned" by the original developers.
