The latest version released includes the following changes :

  • A confirmation popup will appear when you attempt to close the software with unsaved modifications
  • The software now defaults to opening the most recently used library instead of the first one in the list

That is absolutely awesome. I will start testing the transition to using Sound Show.
I also noticed the errors that pop up are in French (like if you drag and drop files into the screen without adding a tab/category first).

Also, if the + icon to add a new element (sound, video, speech, etc), it would be nice as mentioned to have a VOG option (a quick friendly way of using a connected mic to record an announcement like welcoming someone to the stage). If  I could quickly record a bunch of voice records to elements in a tab, I would gladly pay 3x the price for a license. Maybe even more if I can convince my next show to let me invoice them :)

I don't know how hard that last request would be.

This feature would be fun to have. I'm confident I can implement it without too much complexity. I'm targeting to release it by January at the latest.

100% pure awesome!

In the latest release, I added a button to record some sound  from the microphone directly  into Sound Show. It is a first version of the recording feature so there may be some adjustments in the future, but it is functional.

Usage

Inside the Microphone pane on top the UI, there is now a button "Start recording"

Once started it records from the selected input device and you can stop the recording from clicking the button again.

When the recording is stopped, a new sound will be added at the end of the currently selected category.

Version

It is only available in the paid version since I want to add extra gadgets that are interesting but not essentials into this version.

Since you were the one requesting it, I don't want to trap you into buying it. So if you want, you can ask for a free version with this feature by contacting me  Sound Show - Contact Form

Future

  • A current annoyance that will need to be fixed is that the recording sound is also sent to the output while recording.
  • Currently the recorded sound files are put in a folder in the Sound Show app data folder. In the future, it would be nice if the user could configure it.

No way! I said I would gladly pay 3x the price and I upheld that promise. I just did so right now. So I am a proud owner of the pro version and look forward to where it goes from here.

I may pick up a Stream Deck to see if I can control it from there by assigning custom buttons on it to play next track or fade all, etc.

Can't wait to test out the new feature.

I haven't had a chance to hook up a USB interface and use a proper mic. But last night I broke out the laptop, muted the speakers based on what you said, recorded a few test recordings using the laptop's built-in mic (I know it would sound like gabage but was just seeing what would happen), but the audio was a jarbled (in and out, and kind of still echoing here and there as if the speakers were on). I'll give it a good test on a coming show when I get a chance.

If I come up with any other ideas that might possibly help, I'll be sure to share. :)
