I think there's potential, but it needs a lot more polish. I found if I moved up or down and then tried to move left or right while still holding the key, the character would just stop. I like the aesthetic, but the character's walk cycle doesn't follow the animation principles. Also sometimes the direction the character is facing doesn't match the key I'm pressing.

Yep, we were forced to rush many things including the animation.  The sprites are all there, but the code for animating the player is unfinished.  We're hoping to fix all of that and more after the jam has ended.
