For my part - and I'm aware this is just my own preference - I do prefer when visual novels adhere more to the 'novel' side of things ie: I'm more or less a passive witness to what you provide. That said, I do like it when options are presented to us that result in good/bad/alternative endings. IMHO, Talothral's 'Terminus Reach: Sentinel' (parts 1 and 2) are the gold standard for this style.

I actually find myself going back to certain titles, just to read the plot - and skip through the sex scenes... lol. Talothral, along with Killer7 and yourself have the best writing - especially for interpersonal exchanges and character development.

So, yeah. Change things up as and when you feel it necessary, and learn as you go. That said, while changing the writing is all fine and dandy, I'm not too sure whether switching up the game style is as justifiable. You began World's Crossing as  one thing, and perhaps it's better to keep it as that, and change for the next actual game. Of course, that's just my own preference, and an argument can be made that each arc IS a separate game.  Whatever happens, I'm here to see what goes on, because I'm loving the writing.
