Hi, would it be ok if I show your game in a recap video for this jam?

I loved the idea and i think it could be further explored. Maybe you could have more sfx for digging or placing tiles. The animals are really cute. Nice work!

Could you try our game too? It's a 2d platformer, and it was our second game jam and one of our first games so far! Your feedback would be really appreciated!

I found myself playing this game twice to fully grasp the controls and the game's objective. Initially, the controls felt a bit clunky, as I struggled to read the font at the beginning and mistakenly believed I needed to press keys like J or C to place blocks, when it was actually L. The time limit added to the stress, and I overlooked that the question mark blocks provided upgrades. Nevertheless, the pixel art in the game is truly impressive, and the fact that you created all the assets and code is commendable. The AI for the animals felt somewhat awkward, and it took me until my second playthrough to understand how it worked. I managed to rescue four out of five animals in the end. Despite the initial difficulties, it's a charming little game. Really cool, keep up the great work! :)

I really appreciate the feedback, everything you comment was in mind to implement, but unfortunately we ran out of time, we didn't have much time for testing either.

 I'm glad you liked it!

Nice game, I really like the art and the audio.

But there is a lag when getting the upgrade, it made me miss out what upgrades I have gotten and also the animals got stuck within the blocks when I am building upwards.

Nevertheless, awesome game, hope you both continuing creating games and good luck!

Great work!

Things I enjoyed ✔️

  1. The gameplay was very fun and intuitive!
  2. Loved the art style it was great!
  3. Audio was fantastic!

Things I would like to possibly see with your title. 🤷‍♂️

  1. Honestly all I would recommend is shrinking the upgrade ui, it was a little too big in my opinion.
  2. Id recommend having arrows pointing to where the animals are to make it a lot easier on the player.

Overall 📓

Had alot of fun playing this game! You both should be very proud of this game because it is great! I had lots of fun, and I could see this game getting big!

I think the game kinda lack visual/audio feedback for the player's action. For example, placing block/breaking block/saving animal, etc! Cute graphic btw!

Everything you mention was in our plans, but we ran out of time D:

I didn't find the cat, I'm very sad. I'll have to try again.

The game is very good, the idea is one of the most creative I've seen, it's crazy

Hey that's a cool concept!

Once I understood I was a caveman saving animals, I had a laugh. Strange idea, but I liked it and kinda had fun too! And I'm sure I heard the music somewhere else, but I cannot put my finger on it.

Same, there is one part of the music that I'm convinced I know, but I can't remember where from.

An alright game, other than the fact that animals block from placing blocks.
