Was watching a portion of your recording. This is a project  of impressive scale - you put so very much into this! As from what I see in the video, I particularly like the "special attacks" introduced by a short cut scene , unleashing  a great looking chain of visual   effects. You also managed to implement combo effects which I can imagine feel very satisfying when pulled off successfully.

It runs horribly on my computer, but seems fun from what I was able to play

Looks like your machine can't handle the game performance-wise. A rare players had issues with performance on their machines, but most certainly because of aged hardware. Recommended setup is Win-10 x64, Intel Core i7, 3.6GHz, 16Gb RAM, NVidia GeForce GTX 1060.

Yeah my hardware is pretty aged, so unfortunately I couldn't play your game. But thanks for playing mine :) And what I'm seeing looks promising.

For those who can't play the game, here is a record of some matches. This should help you rate the game.

What I'm seeing here generally needs polish but looks promising (though I don't know much about fighting games or Touhou). A specific thing I would recommend changing is the UI. A lot of the text has a color gradient applied to it. Sometimes that effect can make an element stand out, but here I think it's used too often. My suggestion is to be more selective, although I also understand if the current UI is still in the placeholder phase.

OK, we will see what we can do with UI. But what actually needs to be polished there, aside of easily noticeable bugs with incorrect counter/punish scoring and cancelling hitstun by landing if landed and got hit at the same frame? Any suggestions regards it?

Well, even in the video the framerate seems kinda low, so that could use some optimization. Some of the animations look a bit stiff (when this character enters the match in the opening cutscene they sorta hover in standing perfectly upright with no sign of momentum). The voice acting is hard for me to make a call on since it's in a language I don't speak, but when they get hurt they more like they're bored than in pain. And finally, the lighting is too dark and doesn't have much contrast. Even in the map where they're outside the characters are very shadowy.

But like, I get that since this is still in development these things can all be worked on down the road.

Developer

Skill issue. That video was captured in 30fps, the game is fixed at 60fps, reduced from the default 150fps it originally was.

Animations are exact copies from some real fighting games and original anime-like videos this game is BASED on. You can learn more at https://boosty.to/animamundi (analog of Patreon).

Here is a great example how does it works. This is an exact copy of entrance animation and this is intended.

The voice acting is a huge placeholder - we actually planning to hire a professional voice actors to revoice every character from scratch, but of course if we get enough support (crowdfunding) because it costs amazingly lot.

The game is supposed to be dark, just like Mortal Kombat 11. Such a dark, vampiric vibe. Maybe I will change the lighting in future builds. Who knows...

Thank You for Your attention! Keeping Up the Great Work!
