When they update the download with the new version, you just need to download that folder, and replace the old folder with the new one. No save data gets deleted, as they are in the AppData folder location.
...... Download. Extract and place the folder at the same location the old one is. Remove the old one, and you good to go. Litteraly that simple. Unless you talking about hotfixes they add to the current update, then you just replace the old update with the new one.
