Neat Idea! looking forward to seeing it expanded. There is a lot of potential here.

Cool concept and the game is pretty nice once you get to understand it! Good job!

Loved the idea and potential, but has a dominant strategy of just placing ships on opposite sides each row.

Turning space invaders into a turn based strategy game is a wonderful concept, would love to see it iterated on

First of all, thanks for the feedback!

There was the obvious strategy of putting all ships on a single row which I mitigated by putting the one-ship-per-row limit. Placing ships on opposite sides also works, I’ve tried to compensate this problem by lowering the fleet size and raising the required number of survivors.

At the moment it’s like Tic-tac-toe, there are moves that almost always guarantee a win. In the future I would like to improve the intelligence of the Hero, trying to aim for the highest number of kills and not just the closest target.

Very interesting idea though I would love to see more variety in the challenge, maybe different kinds of ships or added items? Visually it would be a lot more appealing to play if movement were smoother too, I understand that's intentional to mimic space invaders but given most of the play time is watching the AI move it could be nicer to watch.

There was the idea of making more types of ships, like with double life, but I didn’t have time to think about it in more details. The initial animation and a few bugfixes took away from me the last few hours.

The speed of the game is intentional, it recalls the original game and it helps to study new tactics (I thought). Your observation is not wrong anyway, perhaps not smoother but a little more speed wouldn’t be bad.

Thanks for your feedback and time.
