why does the game no longer have a text speed slider? the default speed is way to slow for me

I changed it to a dialogue mode system. You can choose it in the Preferences.

The "Immersive" one has that speed to combine with the characters voices, so it can make sense with the pauses and expressions.

But you can use the "Practical" one to just see the dialogues without waiting.

I noticed and i like to use the immersive mode because i like the sound bites of the characters speaking, but the dialog speed is too slow so i end up having to press my space bar a lot to skip it.

Also i wanted to ask, are you perhaps Brazilian?

Eu percebi assim que a menina falou de guaraná kkkk. Tem algumas partes do jogo que o dialogo é bem estranho aí eu soube na hora que seu inglês não era fluente. Eu posso te ajudar com o inglês se vc quiser, pra deixar mais natural.
