There's an annoying issue happening with the way the game's packed where some people aren't having a save folder unpack with the game.
Make sure there's a folder named 'www' in the folder holding your copy of Zombie's Retreat. Inside the 'www' folder, create a folder titled 'save' and now it should function. I'm going to likely change how the game is distributed to prevent this from happening in future builds.
