You absolutely nailed the graphics spot on, it feels like I'm back playing old DS games like Transformers Autobots or Transformers War on Cybertron Autobots!

Issues

I will mention is for one the audio, the sound seems to respond more towards the input of the player than rather the speed of the car, I'm sorry if that's a bit picky. It was also a little difficult to move around, the controls were fine just felt odd one minute you're going like 100MPH then suddenly you're at Mach 10, finally the turning when you're at a high speed is really sensitive, it took barely any input on the A or D key at a high speed to just take a super sharp turn into a wall which made some spots of the map hard to move around at a high speed.

Overall

Heavily enjoyed the nostalgia of being back on what feels like a classic DS title, definitely be proud of nailing that art style, it was just exactly on point! Keep up the good work!

yay thanks!

I'm glad i got the art style good, this isn't my first DS Jam so if you like the style for this you should look at my other entry for DSJ4 cuz that one had actual effort put into it (I had no ideas for this one for like 3 or 4 days)

Also, those issues were actually intentional design. The pro gamer strat is to only hold a turning button, no forwards/backwards inputs, at high speeds for more precise turns while maintain speed.  The fast turns at fast speeds was intentional so at any speed you could make a U-Turn with no loss to velocity (this was definitely not a bug that i kept in because i thought it was interesting)

This is also why the audio does the weird thing responding to inputs, since during testing i was pressing and unpressing the accelerator pretty rapidly, switching between precise and fast turning, and maintaining a comfortable speed, so it feels more like a car w/ that playstyle atleast (it was also way easier to implement)

This plus parts of the map being designed to be harder to navigate is all just designed part of the difficulty curve, like low barrier to entry and high skill ceiling kinda things

also what time did you get? Fastest i got was 1:14.446, if you can beat that time you get different text in the win screen

man your game got more words out of me than Legends Of Cardboard did, I'm doing a "full feedback response" to my own game more than anything here, talkin about my aim with the design n difficulty curve n whatnot

if you want me to give you a full review of your game then you should just feel free to ask instead
