Hello. I have been in need of CG's (big pieces of art that are used in the key points of a visual novel story) for my visual novel, that details the effects of bullying.

I am using @puppetbomb's college life assets as the character art, and I have not been able to find CGs in a similar style. Please search up the assets and look at them to see what the characters look like.

If you can create art in a similar style or can create anime-style art that use the same clothing as the characters that would be great.

I am not too bothered by how long it takes to make each piece of art as there is no deadline to this project.

Also, there are some backgrounds from Uncle Mugen that I am using. I will send the background that each CG is set in for you in each key point of the story I will update you with. I will make updates here in this forum, so please subscribe to the forum to get the notifications for each piece of art.

The link to the backgrounds by Uncle Mugen are here: https://alte.itch.io/uncle-mugens-backgrounds Please make sure to download pack1 and view the school backgrounds as they are the backgrounds that most of the CGs will be set in.

Also, each CG must have a size of 1920x1200px. This is the picture size of the game.

I will refer to each character that @puppetbomb made for you if that makes it easier.

Clara is the character who has glasses and is in the blue dress.

Sarah is the character who has the red top.

Tom is the male character.

So, if you have read this far and feel like wanting to make art for this visual novel then that is great. I really would like to try and make this visual novel look as good as possible.

So now onto the details of each scene. So, there are some CGs that I want you to make for the ending of the game too, so some CGs I detail may seem out of place. (Note: There might be several endings but each ending will contain this particular scene).

Anyways, here is the first CG:

-This CG is set in the scene: library.webp

The characters in this scene are Sarah and Tom.

The CG shows them looking at the player, their bodies facing each other slightly to show that they have a rather good friendship with each other.

Sarah looks very happy and has a big grin on her face. However, Tom looks very nervous and seems to be quite worried.

This CG will only be on for a few lines of dialogue but as it is a keypoint make sure that you put a good amount of effort into making this CG.

-The next CG is set in this scene: school_corridor_background.webp

This CG shows Sarah storming off from the player. She has her back turned to the camera.

-The next one is set in the same scene but is at a different angle

This CG shows loads and loads of other people staring at the camera. They should have a shocked expression on their face. Make sure that you do the art for the other people in a similar style to how you drew the other characters.

-This is the one for the ending. There is no actual particular background for this scene so I will give details on this one.

This one is set in a hospital. Tom is laying on a hospital bed, his head on a pillow. He is facing the player and seems to have a slight smile on his face as if he is trying to be happy.

Make the main background to this scene blurred out to make it seem as if it is only the player and Tom. Also, the scene should be from the view of someone sitting next to a person in a hospital bed.

-This is the other CG for the ending. It has the same exact scenery as the last CG but there is only one difference.

This difference is that Tom has his head leaning back onto the pillow now with his smile gone and his eyes closed. This will be the final CG of the game.

I will over time make more details on the other CGs that will appear. Please note that the game will be about just under and hour long so there should not be CGs left. I would say there will be a max of about 5 to 7 or so CGs.

BEFORE YOU EVEN START DOING ALL OF THIS ART THOUGH, I NEED TO CHOOSE WHO I THINK HAS THE CORRECT STYLE FOR THIS PIECE OF ART:

TO DO THIS PLEASE MAKE SOME ART FOR THE CHARACTER TOM. I WANT TO SEE HOW WELL YOU CAN PORTRAY PERSONALITY IN HOW THEY LOOK. MAKE TWO EXPRESSIONS FOR HIM, ONE IS A HAPPY EXPRESSION AND THE OTHER IS A NERVOUS, CONCERNED EXPRESSION. PLEASE SEND THE TWO EXPRESSIONS FOR ME TO LOOK AT THEM. IF THEY ARE IN A STYLE I AM HAPPY WITH THEN I WILL CHOOSE YOU AS THE CG ARTIST FOR THE GAME. THANK YOU FOR EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATES AS THIS WILL REALLY BE VERY HELPFUL! THANK YOU!

(1 edit) (+3)

I think the reason you did not get any response so far is that it's:

(1) unpaid (consider saving up and hiring someone?),
(2) you did not show any progress on the game already made, i.e. it is hard to tell whether this project will ever be completed, and
(3) you kind of make it sound like a competition ("prove you are good enough!") and you list all your requirements etc., but nowhere you list what the other person gets out of it!

If you want to sell the artist on your story, you might have to reveal a bit more so that they can get excited; so that they want to partner up with you for the project. What will make your game interesting? Why should they want to help with it and not, say, make something on their own? What's the unique premise, the message or any other appeal of it?

Which brings me to another point: you need to realize that when you ask for free help, the only doable way to do it is by forming a team, but your post doesn't really reflect that. You need someone who becomes your game-making partner, someone to collaborate with, but the post sounds more like a request for an (unpaid) job.

Also, I noticed you did not credit the art creators in your Dolly game and ask for help finding them. An easy way for you to do it is by reverse-searching the individual images through Google Images.

Good luck with your game!
