Very cool! The PS1-ish style worked quite well and made for a creepy atmosphere. A bit more sound like some whistling wind or such would have amplified it further.

I love the map drawing idea and I was super excited for it. I spent quite a bit of time mapping out the the right half of the first floor and then my torch ran out, which I had no idea was a thing! An extra line of explainer text at the start for that would have been nice.

After that I decided to just try to make the best time I could and speed run it. I realized pretty quickly that the maze ISN'T randomly generated which I first assumed it was. I was able to quickly locate a couple of artifacts that way.

The second go I also noticed I started with 1/5 artifacts. I'm not sure if that was from my previous run or what but I ended up with 6/5 at the end, which also seemed to glitch out a bit and instantly sent me back to the main menu.

Overall quite fun to explore! The huge open room was a nice surprise :D

Thanks for playing and the extensive review! :D

Glad you liked it overall! I will definitely dive a bit more into sound design and music production in future game jams lol.
