It's tough trying to grow your player base.

you can link your videos here in devlogs so people can view them without leaving itch.

I recommended that you also post on GameJolt . It has a better community system compared to itch. Post your game and its devlogs on
1) Gamedev community

2) Indiegames community

3) The community you can find for whatever engine you're using

4) Rate my game community

and also post little art stuff on arts & crafts community.

This might give you a bit more motivation as people respond more to posts on GJ. As far as players are concerned though; It really depends on the type of game you make and how many people in these communities take interest in your game.

Also, try to join game jams. Whichever one interests you and you think is possible to do, join that jam. Follow their theme and make a little game.

I wish you all the best
Take care :)

Followed !!

You can upload your games there too
when you something about your game, add it to the realm of Game Dev

at the bottom of any post you're making, there should be 2 options
Add Realm    Add Community

you can add up to 5 realms and I think 10 communities

also you can add multiple communities in 1 post
