What is the jam's take on AI generated content? I feel like the jam will be particularly impacted by the rapid nature of asset (graphics and audio) and code generation possible via AI.

Personally I would prefer that it be deemed alright to use as I think it's a tool that is here to stay regardless of the ethical concerns and I think it would be useful to get practice using it as the tool it is...

I agree that ai code generation / art generation should be allowed but it's down to an individual to decide whether it defeats the point of the time constraints or not. I'm not sure what the official rules are on it though. Maybe there could be a rule implemented that says only non-AI content can be first place.

I believe that 4-man team with 3 hours each is much bigger issue than some AI content; GPT is not far enough to produce viable code in a short time. In the end, what is the difference between an image generated by an AI, versus using a third-party asset? The only difference I see is that the author is not human, but who cares, really… I’d still credit the AI tho.

When these questions arise, we always go back to basics, why we started Trijam - to practice gamedev, prototype quickly, test ideas and do it regularly to improve! If you feel like using AI assets will help you improve, you should be able to practice using it! :)
