For the stick specifically:

• In Snowdin as soon as you reach Snowdin you must immediately choose to leave. This will be the top choice the first time you enter Snowdin. 
  • Select: Leave Snowdin. It’d be nice to explore a bit more since you didn’t get a chance to earlier.
  • This option only appears the first time you enter Snowdin. If you do anything else in Snowdin, it will disappear. 
• In Snowdin after you leave pick either the left or right path to encounter Greater Dog. At the end of your counter choose to cuddle Greater Dog.
  • Select: MERCY - CUDDLE THE GREATER DOG
• In Snowdin when you return to Snowdin there will be an extra option of the Greater Dog trying to catch your attention. 
  • Select: Greater Dog is trying to catch your attention.
