Your proposed modifications sound good, but: if you want the music to count as a significant modification for points you should create it yourself. If you are using music from elsewhere be sure to cite who's it is. The same two things go for your additional sprites and effects. Make it explicitly obvious what work you created for this project and what work was used from elsewhere in your final submission.
