I've noticed with some VN projects, the more people you have on board for it, the slower it can be. I've seen a party of 2 get monthly updates out and a party of seven take six months.
Keep in mind there's no patreon where they have subscribers paying to see more. They have a Kofi account to just get random donations. So no monthly pay to motivate getting work produced.
