i love this, really relaxing and the dog is so cute TT<3

Not sure if this is a bug but if you don't have the stick and go to the finish line the bell audio still plays. btw the art is amazing!

cute game luv it

Cute, smart and fun, well done !

Adorable game! The game made me feel very calm playing throught it.

Dear developer! I work with translation, specifically from ENG to PT BR. If you're interested please contact me! You can read more about it HERE.

Great game. The aesthetics and music give off a relaxed and yet melancholic mood that's both chill and worrisome. Makes me think the dog is lost and only has his trusty stick to keep him company.

The puzzles are fairly well designed with intention and deliberation. Each obstacle has a purpose for being there and it shows remarkable polish. I would expect that puzzle games such as these have been extensively tested.

For a demo, it shows great promise. I'll be looking forward to when this releases :-)

Fun little game. Great work & I look forward to what comes next

Very calm and relaxing. I just wish that some of the animations were shorter, as it really makes each attempt feel more frustrating. 4/5

Great puzzle Game! I enjoyed it alot and the dog was super cute!

the input isn't snappy and responsive enough for a puzzle game, and the R key doesn't do anything on the downloaded version?

I thought the same, but it turns out it's a cute little loading spiral in the bottom right corner that fills as you hold R, restarting once you've held for the whole loop. Probably to help the player not restart on accident since the R key is so close to the E rotate key

I cant play bc i dont have a pc rn but nic3 :)

Love it!

Got a suggestion though, instead of tapping once to go one square. You should at least be able to hold to go further without repeated pressing.

Other than that, pretty nice game!

Great game, neat concept. There are a few annoyances I experienced while playing and that is:

  • the transitions between levels and especially restarts are just too long,
  • the animations for moving the stick, that is picking it up and down and rotating with it, are too lengthy, which I felt discouraged me from rapid experimentation,
  • the inputs seemed to be buffered a lot in advance and that made moving around feel quite unresponsive.

Still, great stuff even just from a jam entry. The puzzle design was really good, although I feel like the difficulty curve felt a bit wonky at the beginning.

Great game I really love the quality and the style. :)

its really clever, i love the artstyle too!

I had a great time playing, thanks for sharing! I'm looking forward to more levels

Nice game! I don't know why but I especially like the transition screen, it is so smooth 🐾

Looks like it could be a really great game, but I can't run it because the graphics are set to ultra and there are no options.

this is a really great puzzle game! i also love the cute style :)

All hail long stik.

Hello,
I streamed your game last weekend. Overall, it's a really cute game with well conceived puzzles.

Though I enjoy puzzle games, I often get stumped by puzzle games rather quickly. (My track record with my stream is often within the first couple levels I am already getting stumped) however, with Stick to the Plan I somehow managed to quickly grasp the core mechanics and solve the puzzles rather quickly. I think there were lots of "Ah-ha!" moments. I will admit that I think it was puzzle 14 that I got absolutely stumped on.

I will say that there are some minor flaws with the game. It would be nice to have rebindable keys. I found controlling the dog somewhat awkward. It's not the most important thing given the slow-pace nature of the game, but it's always nice to have comfortable controls regardless of the genre.

Additionally, it's possible to break collision with the stick. It's hard to say exactly how, but a few times I was able to click the stick past an obstacle when turning. I believe this is created when the distance is shortest between the stick and the obstacle when the dog turns with the stick in his mouth. By mashing the turn key, eventually the stick will clip through the obstacle.

If you'd like to watch my experience with your game, I've linked the archive below. You can click the timestamps to jump to when I start playing your game.

Very funny and cute!. Very very good job.

the dog is soo cute! good game! question:how long did this game take you? (im not forcing to reply)

Hi!! Thank you, stupid_fish! (it’s weird to write that hahaha)

This version of the game was made on around 2/3 weeks. Now we’re working on a new version with around 2 months of development :)

oh thanks for replying! and it took you that long? woah!

This game was so fun and unique. I can't wait to see more of it. Keep up the great work!

Fun and very cute!!! There's a lot of potential for cool, fun puzzles here. The main source of friction between me and really getting in the puzzle-game mood was the fact that the animations are a bit slow. They're very cute! But I think the overall experience would be improved if the player could navigate the level in a more snappy fashion so that they can try out their different solution ideas faster, rewarding trial-and-error more. By the end of the game I was plotting out my solutions with my fingers on the monitor instead of just trying things out because I didn't want to deal with the time it would take to physically try my solutions out, which is a shame! If some of the animations (and the level reload time) could be made quicker this would be greatly improved.

Additionally, it might be nice if there were a bit more of an indication as to where the stick-obstacle collision occurred. Maybe a little clacking animation at the spot of collision? Currently it isn't always obvious which obstacle my stick hit.

But those are my only notes for now! I feel this has a very strong core gameplay concept and, of course, absolutely adorable theming and graphics. Looking forward to watching how this project grows!

Hello! I played your game and named the puppy Roberto! :3 (Idk if it had a name prior). I love the simple game and look forward to playing the new levels on my channel once they are released! <3

This... this is a masterpiece!

i loved this game!! it's so cute and fun

Really great! Good work on this to all of you!

This game is so nice! Thank you very much for ulpoading it!

Interesting

I like the idea and style of the game. I enjoyed it :)

There are some things that could improve gameplay, at least from my perspective:

  • Steering could be more responsive. I happened to tap a button twice quickly and dog moved two tiles far. It's rather better to ignore any additional input until current move is done. The best games I played where movement was done on tiles had a steering where I could keep tapping or even hold a button until character was doing the last move that I intended.
  • I think it would look much better if dog would face the direction of movement (instead of strafing or going backwards) when moving without a stick.
  • Despite smooth animation, sound was glitching. I also saw flat 25% CPU used in task manager, so one core was completely busy when game was in focus. Firefox 109.0.1 on Windows 10 and PC that panted as much (on all cores) when running CP2077 on high settings (with smooth sound).

i like it well designed

Fun game ran a bit slow in the webgl version but I beat all 15 lvls good work.

This is one of the simplest puzzle gimmicks I've ever seen that's somehow still unique and challenging. Though, nothing is ever going to beat I Wanna Lockpick in that regard.

Very fun and relaxing game, love the puzzles. you should make it a mobile game put some ads on the level reload and bam you are set and ready to post it on the play store.

Remember to include the repeating levels and unlockable skins.

nice and super funny premise

Had a fun time with it. And it's cute so ++
