Yes, the NSFW scenes usually require re-visiting areas that you've finished the chapter in. I think I'll need to add some sort of better indicator of this, hmm... I thought having to do fetch quests in each finished area would help but maybe not...
While pronoun indicators for every scene are useful for a lot of games (and I think they are generally a force for good) I don't think it's going to fit this game for multiple reasons. (At least not as a default option.)
I could go on and on, but the biggest one is simply one you said yourself: the game does eventually tell you the pronouns of each character, you just have to wait a little bit and keep reading. (And also, you're the first person to have assumed Kale *or* Chardra were not female in any way, so I do think there might be some examining to do there, yeah. Not all female characters need to have overly "feminine" designs or faces to be female or assumed female, and I pride myself on my big and/or dorky girls.)
But, secondly, it's simply going to make some translating down the line very difficult. (Non-English languages have some issues with they/them and some languages don't even have pronouns like we think of them.)
If other folks ask and keep asking, I may consider adding it, but it will not be default to the game. Especially because I feel this will undermine some of the many, MANY conversations about the trans experience this game has on offer. For me, it's also okay to leave some NPCs ambiguous, as some genuinely have non-labeled or genderfluid identities. It's okay not to know someone's pronouns or gender right off the bat, I think. Just like it's okay not to know everything about someone's sexuality right off the bat. It's okay to let the game try to show and teach you things about the world instead of me hand feeding even more than I already do, aha.
Lastly, to be fully transparent, you will not be seeing any "romances" for Satine because Satine isn't someone who tends to do long term romantic partnerships. But, you will see Satine fuck a lot of people and make a lot of friends. ;)
Kissy, lovey dovey stuff will mostly come from Sal and Battam. 💕
