I don't know If it's too far-reaching into the novel but I get mad over-controlling/suffocating parenting vibes from Owen's mom when she pulled up in that black sedan, I hope a lot of Owen's route is setting him up with some independence and helping him experience new things he never got the chance to because his parents are over-protective.
