There might be a lot of causes. Are you fired/suspended? Did you remember if anything happened in the office before the work icon disappeared?
no - I'm the boss; I'm not sure what happened
this same problem started happening for me as well ever since the 22.11.0b update, haven't been able to progress any office-related stories due to this bug
