Yes, you can do that, but it seems like you have to log in to the site, so many people won't play your game because of that...maybe also upload a windows build if that's possible. What language do you use by the way?
I use Processing, which is built upon java. It's pretty cool!
And i'll just go with a windoes build, it'll be simpler and it's probably going to lag less.
