Solid foundation for a great game and fits the theme perfectly. Overall atmosphere is great.

Remarks:

  • I'd like to hold fire to shoot
  • I can avoid most enemies by digging around (maybe limit dig somehow?)
  • Where do i go? Too much luck involved

Holding fire to shoot is a great idea, will get that implemented. Also what you say about luck is a good point - the idea is that this will be improved with more guided (but still random) generation for the map, as well as having multiple levels of "cave" you progress through before getting the key. Also more endings are planned to improve replayability and give a better balance of guidance vs freedom.
