i'm stuck, man. is the card game essential to progressing? also it's kinda annoying how you do not, at all, explain the rules of the game anywhere.

(1 edit)

I don't think winning the card game is required, at least for this unfinished version. Where are you stuck?

i found the creepy area preceded by the golden cthulhu statue, i walked back and forth but couldn't find anything to help me progress there. i saw the hobbit dude go back to the right screen upon entering there, and i also went into the uhh barn? there's a creature there but it's literally pitch black and i dont know how i'm supposed to do anything.

Sorry for the late reply. Here is a map of the swamp I drew years ago. Left and Right are sometimes reversed, so it's a bit confusing to follow...
First, you need to reach the Burning Bridge to get a key. Then, your aim is the Locked Gate, where there is a checkpoint. You can also get the checkpoint first, before getting the key (not sure if that makes the key path easier.) I hope this helps somehow. The area with the statue and the barn is for a later point of the game.

Amazing, you're a true gamer

My god, thank you for posting this back then and sorry for not replying, I suppose I just kind of forgot. Biggt himself replying to these comments all this time later reminded me of this game and your comment. I will play through this game (or try to) that I'm here again.

For progressing through the base game, the card game is not required. It is linked to secret stuff. The rules are technically explained but you have to find the guys who explain them.

Thanks for the reply! Btw not long after making that comment in 2023 i stumbled into your other work, and subsequently fell into a rabbit hole of cool independent games from the early 2000s. And i just wanted to say your stuff is really cool and I'm a big fan, I also enjoyed how kind of obscure it has gotten nowadays, there seems to be no one who mentions stuff like Uin or La la land (which is a shame).  And those games were very interesting. Like Adrien Dittrick said below, if you ever pick up any social media please link them up somewhere! It'd be cool to know what you're up to creatively (if anything). Are you making something these days, if I may ask?

P.S. it's really cool that you updated the game after all this time, will definitely try it out again. What caused this sudden comeback if I may (#2)?

I was playing Clock Tower, and it reminded me of this game, so I had an urge to do it. I would like to make more but the distractions...
