It might be just me being dumb but only being able to shoot in your walking direction is not a fun machanic.

Honestly, it is a very good mechanic, because game gets harder and requires more skill development :D

I get your point but I think it should get harder as you play and not be hard from the start. If the dev whants to keep it that way a change might be to have an indicator when the shot fires so you know when to turn.

You're goddamn right

Having the fireball only shoot forward is a design choice. I most likely also will not be adding a timer to the UI to show when the fireball is about to fire as well. It makes the game have a better risk/reward feeling, and incentivizes pattern awareness for skilled players.

As well in the future when more weapons/spells are added into the game, having a bunch of timers all over the screen would quickly clutter up the UI.

When other spells get added (which will be soon) I imagine the fireball direction will be ignored as you'll be firing off multiple projectiles all at the same time anyhow.

Are you going to add other starting weapons, that might be a nice addition for players not looking for a "high" skill experience?

If it helps, there is a timer in game for how long you have been alive. It isn't perfect for this, but I use it to time when I turn back to shot enemies. It took a bit of getting use to, but it helped me.
