I'm planning on participating in this event for the first time and I want to make sure I understand the rules before we get started. How exactly do I "start the clock" when the event begins? I read over on Rogue Basin that it has something to do with this website:

But I'd like someone to break it down for me as if I were a five year old before hand. I'm very excited to be trying my hand this year and I really don't want to screw it up. Thanks in advance!

We completely trust you, just take note of the time you started, and send your final build 7 days after that.
So if you start on Saturday, 1:23 PM, you gotta submit your game before next Saturday, 1:23 PM.
However, if you start along the week, say Wednesday 7:03 AM, you still gotta send your game before Sunday, 11:59PM (That's the only exception to the rule!)
Do be careful, however, as your region may be switching daylight savings during the challenge! It is 168 wall-clock hours from your start; so if you start 1PM Sunday 3rd, you might be able to legally finish 2PM Sunday the 10th.
Likewise, if you are going to fly across the world do not adjust your personal countdown for the time change :>
