What software specifically did you use to make this? (or at least is there any modern equivalents? I can't find anything like this)

These were actually made using a very old, unavailable tool called Infinity Textures, but the company that made it no longer exists or provides new licenses/downloads, sadly.. The closest modern PAID alternative might be Adobe Substance, however it can be a bit pricy. While some good FREE alternatives would likely be NeoTextureEdit, TextureLab, or Material Maker, they all work using a non-destructive procedural 'flow-chart' style workflow that may be more user-friendly and easier to learn, compared to the way Infinity Textures worked using a destructive series of 'steps' and 'functions' applied one by one.

I am slowly putting together some more tutorials using software such as GIMP or Photoshop for this kind of texture work, though the process can be a bit more complicated when using standard image editing software compared to how it would be in a specialized texture authoring tool.
