Hey Itch,

If you're an artist looking to join a project, we might have something for you! Rifthoppers is a story-rich, action roguelike with high replay value, both local and online co-op, boss fights, and countless item upgrade combinations. The game is made using Unity, paired with GitHub for version control.

For the past few months, we've been working with a small, dedicated team of people to build upon the concept of our Ludum Dare 50 game. Since then, we have managed to make significant improvements towards our objective. However, we are unable to make any more significant progress due to a lack of content, especially in terms of art. This gives you an opportunity to step in and bring your own vision and ideas to the table, working with us to make our dream game, together.

These are the key aspects you will be able to contribute to:

  • Designing enemies matching the game's style or help redesign existing art to match a new style.
  • Designing bosses, including the discussion of boss concepts, attacks, etc.
  • Designing areas within the Rift, sized 400x400, including concept discussion, breakable terrain, etc.
  • Designing specific areas, such as the Professor's laboratory, Bear's apartment, and more if the scope allows it.

Rifthoppers is set in 21XX on a dystopian sci-fi/cyberpunk style earth. You assume the role of Bear, an ex-soldier turned mercenary, hired by some professor performing research into rift-technology. You are tasked with entering said rift, so that the Professor may collect data for his research. However, you are not alone. Equipped with an energy blaster, you will fight wave after wave, no questions asked. Exactly the type the Professor was looking for. No qualms from you. You're happy to do whatever you need to if it gets you a first-class ticket off this planet.

Hello I was just wondering if I could help out with pixel art. I already have experience from making tons of sprites in paint 3D for my own games although I have always worked alone in making games it would be a cool thing for me to be in a group and part of something. I already played the demo and I think the game looks great so far!
