Welcome to the Bookmark Game Jam!

I understand if it is hard to fit all your ideas into a small piece of paper or even come up with any idea at all! So here are some ideas to get your ball rolling and maybe something to consider adding to your bookmark game:

  • A bookmark game that requires more than a single bookmark to play.
  • A game that pit two or more bookmark against each other with or without additional components.
  • Played with an old book that you've read before and interacted with the world within.
  • Reimagine a book.
  • Hack another game/ took/ generator into bookmark size.
  • Make a series of bookmark games that can be played in tandem or as a series.
  • Solo Journal games maybe?
  • Double-sided bookmark with a hero and villain mode.

That's all the ideas that I have for everyone. If you feel like sharing and contributing some ideas with us feel free to create a new thread (use the Idea tag), or share them here!

I hope this will help you jumpstart the game and help your game designing process.

Sorry, I don't quite understand the rules. Can you explain further?

Hi Koolii,

No problem but may I know which part of the rules you didn't understand? Maybe if it's about the game design itself there's only 1 rule. Your rules or game text itself needs to fit a bookmark paper size.

Also, it needs to be a playable game by itself whether it is a character generator, item generator, story generator, prompts generator, or simplified D&D guidelines. It needs to fit in a bookmark. You can design it as a single page or double page.

Ah, ok. Double paged meaning two bookmarks?

Oh no, double page means front and backside.

Hmm, I think I got  an idea. Thanks!

Awesome! :D

Best of luck!
