Go into the inventory, select Rooter's head, then drag the desired bolt onto the large depiction of Rooter's head on the left. If you've done it right, the bold will be shown on Rooter's snout and there will be a "separate" button beside it.
Found it, so he moves his head to the left corner of the screen there the bolt does fit, this will be a tough challenge ahead :)
Sorry can't get it to work, so i select the bolt and move, this part just doesn't work, i can select the bolt and move it over the head , but it just doesn't do anything, this happens with every bolt i choose.

Did you click on the head in the inventory first? You can't drag the bolt onto the head's small icon. I don't mean having Rooter on the left of the screen. I mean having his head in the left section of the inventory. Here's how you should drag:
