Yeah you only lose health when you get hit by bullets (although that's not clear because we didn't get around to any UI) - but you'll lose score for pressing a key when it's not on time or missing it altogether. So although both are important you can always choose to ignore the rhythm part - or if you manage to save up your ability you can use it to deflect bullets and essentially ignore the dodging part of the game.
