Idea is nice, altough leveling up could happen sooner. I think I did make it to the king, but died on very next card, so I'm not sure did I win or not :D
Now when you said that I assume it's my check if card should hurt you checking if card == player_level + 1 and when you reach king there is no bigger card than that and all other cards kill you. Will make that right, and add "You became a King" screen instead of Game Over.
