I am logged in with my original account credentials AND own the product. Said so in my original post. The links are not active. I went back to the purchase email from 2 years ago and used the link ("Downloadad your purchase"). That takes me to a different page where downloads are now active.
P.S.: You might want to refrain calling your customers cheats in the future.
