Should I make The Moon Fields free?

I don't know if anyone is ever going to see this, but I'm guessing if you're here you might be interested in hearing this?

I burned out making The Moon Fields probably sometime in 2018. I think it was a combination of doing too much and not knowing what I was doing. Between figuring out marketing for a fighting/adventure game, getting people to playtest it, learning to code, and not really knowing how to manage a company... the scope was too much and I was not prepared to handle it. I spent these two years of the pandemic back in school getting a CompSci degree. I'm one semester away from graduating,  I'm thinking about 9 to 5 software engineering jobs, and I keep thinking I should just let this thing go.

Anyways, I don't know what's happening to The Moon Fields. I am certain I'm never touching the old files for this game. Will I make something else with The Moon Fields in the future? Probably.

Hey man. For what it's worth, I see this and understand. Met you at PAX back in...2017, I'd say it was, and really enjoyed the game in the mini-tourneys we had.

It's a big project, and in my (and my friends') opinion, it was fairly well fleshed out and balanced, and even as a multiplayer only, it can more-or-less hold its own.

What I'm getting at is,....be proud of what you made. it's still a big achievement and a hell of a lot of progress considering you were learning the whole way along. If you ever make something else out of the bones of The Moonfields, I would definitely love to see it. But as it stands, your situation is completely understandable, and I (and I'm sure many others) all just hope you're doing the best you can for yourself. Good luck on your new/next endeavors.

While $20 might be a lot to ask, the question in the end is if you think it should go free. Personally I've always enjoyed the game, but going free will help bring some newer attention to the game.

I think making the game free would be great.

I played this at the midwest gaming classic a long time back and really enjoyed it. Just decided to look it up again. Do what feels best for you I guess.
