Yeah, the custom head accessory isn't part of the save system. It's kind of just a tacked on extra thing right now. Custom stuff will be getting a full revamp in the next month or so.
As for the tails, I can't seem to recreate that issue, but the save system was a little bit broken in terms of colors in v0.1.7 so maybe there is something going on there for the tails as well. I have since rewritten a lot of the save/load code so maybe (hopefully) it was fixed between then and my current working version of v0.1.8
