Here are some general suggestions that often help when one channel is not recognized:
- Make sure you don't have any other joysticks/controllers connected, that might cause a conflict.
- If connecting via USB, make sure you uninstall vJoy and Smartpropoplus if you have them. Their driver messes with things when connecting via USB.
- Make sure you have "Heli" selected as model type on your radio. ("Plane" generally doesn't work very well).
- If you are using a USB dongle - check if there's a switch on the dongle where you can select different modes.
- Perhaps you can remap the output channels (in the menu of the transmitter) so that it sends to another channel.

If none of the above works you could try to connect an ordinary 3.5mm audio cable from the trainer port of the transmitter to the audio-in (or mic-in) jack of your computer, along with a software called Smartpropoplus.

There is more info on that in the Spektrum setup tips document:

I have the same problem Dx6. to Fpv FreeRider

What kind of connection method are you using? Are the other stick channels recognized correctly?

As you go through the Calibrate Controller procedure in Freerider, keep an eye on the little circles above the OK button. You should be able to move four of the little circles smoothly up and down using your controller sticks. Sometimes the automatic stick detection gets it wrong - you can manually click on the circle that you see is the correct one for each stick (instead of clicking "OK"). (You will still need to hold the stick fully in the direction shown in order for the calibration to work correctly).

When i go on Center all sticks  there is three horizontal dashes below top middle bottom from middle dash there is three rings represent Thro - Pitch  & Elev these work fine there is a gap of four rings which carry on twenty one rings further same line the gap of four rings are on the  bottom line the second ring is the Yaw control when i move yaw stick it only moves in one direction up not down why is this control down on bottom line if it was next ring  after the Elev i feel sure it would work very frustrating  john

From what you describe, I think you will be able to get it working. It doesn't really matter if there is a gap from the other rings.

As you calibrate the yaw stick - hold it in the direction shown on screen, and then click on the little ring that you see represent the yaw movement as described in the post above.

(Then, after you have gone through the calibration procedure you will come to the trim settings screen - there you can test if the stick input work as expected. And, you have the ability to manually adjust the trim/scale etc. if needed).

Hi Rustrust  thank you for replying to my post trying to calibrate my dx6i to FPV Freerider as soon as i deviate from pressing OK the  controls go all over the place  , going through the set procedure pressing OK after each move all works except YAW . Yaw is first control to set but when you move the stick it only moves in one partly  direction up no movement  down and it does not highlight YAW  as of the other three controls Thr -Roll-Pitch which have full movement up /down and are Highlighted as you select them it is as Yaw  control can't be seen  ??? i am wondering weather FPV Freerider firmware has downloaded properly or  am i doing  something wromg Kind Regards Weebydand

As you are calibrating yaw - click the little circle that you see is corresponding to the yaw stick, while holding the stick in the position shown on screen.

The circle should then should then highlight, saying "yaw".

When calibrating the other sticks, you can just press OK as usual.

(It shouldn't actually matter whether you click the little circle, or click OK, just as long as you are holding the stick fully in the direction shown on screen).

If the yaw movement is still not correct when you come to the trim settings screen you can adjust it using the sliders.

I'm sure it's not a problem with the download. Make sure you don't have any other controllers/gamepads/drawing tablets connected at the same time as that might cause a conflict.

Hi  I have done exactly how you said it is the only time "yaw" appears in green but when i go to check screen all other controls work  fine Thr-Elev- Pitch  but yaw stick moves from centre  bearly 3mm to left  and nothing to right  exactly same movement as on centre sticks page on line of small circle as i try each control on the little circles  Thro -Elev-Pitch all move same amount up and down 4mm but Yaw circle bearly moves up 1mm and no movement down their is something a mis how do you reach  FPV FreeRider after sales service please kind regards Weebydand

Please check that you are using a standard model setup on your radio.

(That is, that the endpoints are the same for yaw as for the other channels)

Also, perhaps it will work better if you remap the yaw stick to another channel (in the settings of your radio) .

From what you are describing, it sounds like there's a chance you could get it working by adjusting sliders on the trim settings screen in Freerider.

Try to pull the scale slider (for the yaw channel) until you get more movement.

After that you can use the trim slider to get the center position correct.

You can email fpvfreerider@gmail.com for further support.

(Perhaps you can make a short video that shows what happens when you go through the calibration).

Dear Sir I have re-calibrated all controls end points are the same you can not remap Dx6i all scale trims do  is get large circle from Right stick to left stick I have even tried Dx5e and it behaves exactly the same it is as through I am using same transmitter the fault is with the Download fpv freerider   I am in dispair   kind regards  weebydand

Great, glad to hear that you managed to get it working by using the smartpropoplus method!

You can also find more general information in the user manual.

thank you
