mhm! but something interesting perhaps...
Downloaded the prepatched version and ran it in both chrome and joiplay (mobile only until I get my computer sorted). Saving didn't work so I launched the browser embedded on itch and lo: it read as if patched, but with a better UI, landscape by default, and working save to disk option.

Sounds strange. I just tested using Chrome (on desktop), but I take it you’re playing with android. Sadly, I’m not a professional developer, and I have no experience with android myself, so I have no clue why it wouldn’t work right.
I do always update the version on ITCH when I update my game, so if playing through that works, that’s an option. Sorry I cannot help more.
