I swear I wasn't so scared that I barely finished this experience...

Haha, this originally wasn't meant to be a horror game, but when implementing the camera mechanic I felt like I was missing a little something, so I made everything dark and added a basic AI.

Thanks for taking the time to play my game!

I am very impressed with the trailer! Excellent mechanics and fascinating atmosphere. I love these games. Catch the five’s)

Really good game, nice use of theme! Took a while to work out but when I got the hang of it, it was really fun to play.

I got really scared the first time that the oogie boogie ghost shouted at my face lol. The camera mechanic is very interesting guys! I would change the locomotion system because it can be a bit dizzy, maybe teleport and snap rotation would do great in this game :)

Anyway great job guys :) I hope you had fun doing the game.

Sorry that you felt a bit dizzy! I actually experimented with teleportation, but at the time I had already made all the levels and there were some "shortcuts" that teleportation would lead to. I would have had to either make platforms taller (which means a long fall and motion sickness) or come up with some other solution, but I got busy and didn't have the time to.

Thank you so much for taking the time to play my game!

For those about to play, I suggest you reset your standing position/orientation before playing. Not doing so may cause issues with teleporting through walls when activating the white polaroids taken from the camera.

And for those of you who may not handle scary games well, there is an X-ray mode on the camera that you can use to see ghosts through walls. The scariest part of a horror game is the unknown, so I hope the option to make their positions known calms down those who are a little worried.

If you encounter any issues let me know!

I wasn't able to take a picture with the camera. Am I missing something?

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

In order to take pictures, you have to pick up empty polaroids around the map, the polaroids can be red, white, blue,  or purple. Typically they are on a table or countertop. There is a limited number of polaroids around the map, so you have to be careful not to waste them. (And if you do run out of polaroids, there is a menu button on your left wrist.)

The camera has 5 different settings, flash (yellow), stun (red), teleport (white), reveal (purple), and barrier (blue). When you change modes, there should be a number in the colored square indicating how many polaroids you have in that setting. I hope that helps!

Also, what headset are you using? I only tested with the Quest 2.

EDIT: The camera has a 6th setting which is X-Ray.  This is for those who might get scared easily and want to know where the ghosts are at all times.

I'll try it again later today! I was using the Oculus rift CV1.
