i’m confused by the controls. arrow keys control both the paddles and the snake, but my controller controls only the paddles. are they meant to be separate, or tied together?

in the original pong, the ball’s direction depended on where it hit your paddle: low it goes down, high up, and in the middle straight across. you’ve left that out which, coupled with a bug, makes the game quite hard!

the bug is that if you send the snake’s head directly backward into its own body, it doesn’t die, but remains frozen immovably in its location. so if you accidentally draw a vertical line with your snake this way, especially since you can’t control the ball’s direction, you get dedded.

if PC had more sensible control schemes, this would be a great two-player game! give one player the pong and one player the snake and have them work together to reach a high score!

( speaking of — where’s the score counter D: )
