Loved your game, at first I thought it was gonna be a rythm game like crypt of the necrodancer (surely it has been an inspiration for this game)

Negatives:

  • Please learn to build your games as webgl, most I included but the title & image was too interesting to skip hopefully) will not care to download a zip to play the game. Almost skipped this one. And Unity does a great job at this.
  • juice : use some SFX for attacks & skills, maybe screenshake when you get attacked, not sure but i think al the skills use the same color vfx, changing it may help with the boss (I could not get through unfortunately)
  • Game page : give more information about how the game works, I was lost at first, but hopefully caught up fast, also add captures / gifs of your game
  • bug? chests often gave me nothing, I guess it means I already have the spell it was supposde to get but not sure
  • indicate the boss room, like a different door maybe. You don’t want to get to the boss at the beginning of your run
  • some work on the lights, colors are hard to differentiate, make them glow I think

Positives:

  • LOVED the gameplay and your idea
  • sprites are nice (though I think I already saw the thrower elsewhere, might be wrong, did you do them or is it an asset you downloaded?)
  • Good choice of music (still misses sfx)

EDIT : for limitation, I didn’t feel I was fighting myself, maybe due to the spells vfx, also I’m not sur the boss actually needs the tiles to activate the spells, could be wrong
