I think it's a creative take on the theme, and I like your pixel art (have used this exact palette for one of my games hehe). The highlight circles clash with the palette though. Nice voice lines and the atmosphere, good job!
Yeah, those colours were just placeholders; I updated them in the instructions, but annoyingly, I forgot to update the ones in the game itself.
