After earning enough evolution points, I always obtain the four cannon headed evolution. In any case, the game is well-made and polished.
It may seem like it, but that's because it's one of the evolution states that can be seen visually (but if you meant you always get four cannon, it's probably just a coincidence). Other evolution states are increased movement speed, dash, and many more.
