Clearing Zones doesn't give you emeralds.
Silver Sonic gives you an emerald as an easter egg (he had a chaos emerald in Sonic 2 master system)Nack gives you an emerald as he is hunting for them, and I wanted this detail to be somewhat relevant in game.
